Greetings from the Prairies: I am trying to collect information about my family who lived in the Wallace area in the late 1800's into the 1950's. Some of the children attended local schools in the Wallace area: how can I gain access to their names in rolls of attendance? Does anyone remember the family of: Sarah (nee: Rhindress) McFadden? Also, my Father went to sea when he was a young man. He spoke of sailing from the Wallace ports. Where can I obtain names and voyages of schooner ships from that era? Thank you for any information you can supply. Edith McFadden-Croft (nicky21@shaw.ca) You can find pictures of my ancestors on my face book page .... You can also borrow books I have written about growing up in Pugwash in the 1950's and early 1960's in the Pugwash library. Enjoy. From, Edith

I suggest you visit the Genealogy Reference Sites page on this site and contact other sources. This site was set up for the 2008 Loyalist Reunion and is not a resource centre. Good luck in your search. Ellen

Hi Stephen, I'm a descendant of the GIlbert Purdy, the one who served in the Guides and Pioneers and later the Westchester Refugees. In the text of the claim that has been posted, there is a name left blank before naming Col. Holland. I believe the commander of the Guides and Pioneers before Holland was Col Emmerich, who was later the commander of Emmerich's Chasseurs. Have you seen the original? Is the missing name possibly Emmerich?
Best regards Chris Armstrong

if you go to http://www.royalprovincial.com/index You can go to history of Guides & Pioneers. My line of Worden had a son Gabriel Worden that was in the G & P but died by Aug 2, 1780 under Samuel Holland command. Before Holland was Capt Andreas Emmerich of Germany. If you read the history you will see Fraser next, followed by Robinson, & Aldington. Your Purdy's were in my Worden family Debby Worden w635debby.worden@yahoo.com

Hi Heather, I think we talked on the phone about five years ago. I'm a 4'th ggranddaughter of Angus through James Wheaton McFee. Recently I've seen postings that Angus' wife was Deborah Wheaton. I thought there may be a connection and put out inqueries over five years ago. Has someone found definite proof. I get a little leary when I see Deborah Wheaton in a tree and there aren't any primary documents to support this. Or have you found something? I can't make it to the Remsheg Reunion. I hear Angus' property was where a cemetery over looks the ocean. Will you take a photo if you can locate his origina plot.?Thanks, a long lost cousin, Georgia Maddocks from Massachusetts

Silly me! I'm the one who posted the first message without realizing that I neglected to include my name. I am David Walker (david at ancestraltrails dot ca). Have a look at my web site for Seaman and related content, www.ancestraltrails.ca. I will be at Remsheg 225 with my wife and two dogs, all dressed in pioneer costumes (yes, including the dogs). There is a link on www.ancestraltrails.ca to these costumes - from the Home page, click on Reunion 2008, then Photo Travelogue.
